What I love about my work: Every day we get to provide solutions for hard-working people across this continent in all types of industries. The applications are endless and interesting. Partnering with companies that are creating innovative products from the ground up is always an honor to be a part of. There is a lot of science involved, and I love that I learn something new every day. If you call us, we will go to work for you.
My interests outside of work: This is mainly consumed with my two amazing kiddos, my friends, and my plants. I love exploring new places in the world and being outside doing absolutely anything, especially next to water. I am typically on my kayak or some sort of a boat, with a fishing pole, most any given summer weekend.

brenda@alklean.com

From our beginning days in 1971, I have been active in the business continually. Just because other women weren’t doing those jobs never bothered me. I enjoyed the challenges, and I was blessed to have a good mechanical aptitude, so I attended the distributor meeting when I was the only woman there as a distributor. I was able to learn most of the mechanical aspects of the equipment, but I left the electrical to John. I told him I preferred to get my curls from the beauty shop instead of a hot wire. I have worked in all aspects of the business, from office, parts, and sales to management. We always felt the more we both understood about the business, the more secure our livelihood would be if one of us was unable to continue for whatever reason might come. Praise God that never happened except for short durations of illnesses in the last 50 years. The time spent together with family and understanding each other’s challenges were a great blessing, we feel. I cannot overemphasize the blessing of having the additional time with our son during the 41 years God let us have him with us.  He died suddenly of a heart attack in 2013 at the age of 41.  Working with him daily virtually all his life provided memories I will always cherish.

It is my honor to be able to continue a legacy my dad and grandpa created for our family, and it’s just the icing on top that I not only enjoy what I do, but I’m not too bad at it either.
