The famous 20th century poet W.B. (William Butler) Yeats said, “Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.” At this year’s CETA and PWNA regional meeting held in Reno, NV, it was announced that CETA University was going to be revived.
Jim O’Connell, CETA president, remarks, “CETA University helps educate the members, which gets CETA back to its core.” The launch date for CETA University will be 30 days from the regional event, which was held June 26. It was exciting to see the fire lit in Reno, and it is with great anticipation we look forward to seeing future plans to pass on important industry knowledge and how they are put into action. To read more about the regional meeting and why you should make your plans now to attend the Annual Convention, turn to page 14.
On page 6, the article “Misting Pumps: A Bigger Role in the Future” by Diane Calabrese goes into detail about the use of misting pumps and their future role. She says, “Given the interest in using fewer chemicals and less water to accomplish tasks that keep industries thriving, mist pumps will play a bigger role in the future than they do today.”
In the article “A Critical Platform for the Future” on page 26, Terry Gromes, Jr., with Terydon Inc. and Andrew Chilkiewicz with NLB Corporation give their perspective on the utilization of automation and robotics in the industry. Their usage is leading to improved safety and more efficiency.
Other important topics that are covered in August are related to people management, motor speedway cleaning, bid preparation details, work safety best practices, and a regional profile of Atlantic Canada.
Cleaner Times hopes that you have a great month of August.
