Editor’s Note—March 2019

by Michael Hamline, Editor / Published March 2019

Mark your calendars for some important dates in 2019. First, the Cleaning Equipment Trade Association (CETA) will be hosting their regional meeting at the Peppermill Resort in Reno, NV, on June 26. Second, PowerClean 2019 will be held in conjunction with CETA and Power Washers of North America (PWNA) at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Charleston Airport Hotel and Convention Center October 17–20. These events are important to attend for the educational courses one receives that provide ideas for improving your business and the networking that allows you to form good relationships in the industry. For more details on the regional meeting or PowerClean 2019, visit www.ceta.org or www.pwna.org.

On page 6, Terri Perrin continues to introduce readers of Cleaner Times to different regions in Canada and the opportunities for business that exist for those in the pressure washing industry. Her article “Regional Profile: The Canadian Prairies” gives insight into the provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.

To read about the second recipient of the 2018 CETA Lifetime Achievement Award, turn to page 24 and learn about Roger Walz with Alkota. Kathy Danforth writes that Roger Walz “has been part of the pressure washing industry since its infancy.” Gary Scott, president of Alkota, states, “In my opinion, Roger has had as much influence on the current design of pressure washers as anyone who has worked in this industry.” The article is a fascinating read that takes you through the history of the industry through Walz’s career and life.

There are many additional articles to read in this March issue, and I’d encourage you to do so with a pen in hand or a computer in your lap to keep a record of ideas that you want to implement to make your business better.

Cleaner Times would love to hear from you this year, and we look forward to seeing you later this year.
