CETA Regional Distributor Meeting

CETA Regional Distributor Meeting

Minneapolis, June 11, 2018

Published May 2018

Can anything further enrich the experience of being at a high latitude near the summer solstice? Yes.

The CETA Regional Distributor Meeting in Minneapolis, MN, on Monday, June 11, 2018, will be a bright spot to learn and share with colleagues. The meeting will take place from 1:00–4:00 p.m. at the Minneapolis Marriott Northwest Hotel (in space donated by A.R. North America of Fridley, MN).

The three-hour session promises to be a rich one. Dustin Hillis, the author of Selling the Way People Like to Buy, will speak to the group. So, too, will Dr. Marlo Dean, the senior support services manager at Kärcher-North America in Camas, WA.

Dean will provide a technical update on California Prop 65, which imposes labeling requirements for products containing potential carcinogens,
along with discussion of other topics.

There is no charge to participate in the meeting, and any distributor is welcome. Distributors who attend will be asked to complete a short registration form on site. A random drawing will result in one participant receiving a two-night stay at the Caribe Royale in Orlando, FL, during the CETA 2018 PowerClean Convention and Trade Show, compliments of Hydra-Flex.

Chad Rasmussen, president of CETA for 2018 and the CFO at Royce Industries L.C. with headquarters in West Jordan, UT, encourages distributors to attend. “Finding time in your schedule will be worthwhile for sure,” he says.

With the combination of Hillis and Dean, the “top-notch” program is just the foundation. Networking and making new contacts will be a significant add-on benefit to attendees, says Rasmussen, who hopes to see new and old faces at the session.

Ben Hagemann, vice president of CETA in 2018 and the general manager at American Pressure Inc., has the same high expectations as Rasmussen. He looks forward to sharpening sales skills, as well as renewing and starting friendships.

“The Minneapolis-St. Paul region is home to many of the pump manufacturing companies and also close to many pressure washer manufacturing companies and suppliers,” says Hagemann. “We anticipate the meeting will be a very well-attended event, and we hope that anyone reading this chooses to make attendance even higher.”

There’s no substitute for person-to-person interaction, says Jim O’Connell, the senior vice president of CETA for 2018 and the president of Hotsy Pacific in Modesto, CA.

“Even though we live in a world of instant information via the internet, I believe being able to network and share ideas and philosophies face-to-face with others who are in the same industry is of great importance,” says O’Connell. “Our world is relationship based…lose the relationships and we stand to lose all the knowledge available from those relationships.”

“Good conversation” is just that, says O’Connell. There is no virtual-world substitute for it. “Every time I meet someone new, I gain a whole new perspective and valuable information that otherwise I would miss out on.”

We hope to see you at the CETA Regional Distributor Meeting in Minneapolis—very near the 45th parallel. (Send any questions regarding the meeting to info@ceta.org.)
