Golfing for a Cause was held in Peosta, IA, on August 5, 2013. The bi-yearly event starts with a golf tournament during the day, which is followed by a banquet and silent/live auction in the evening. All auction items are donated to the cause from area businesses and friends of Mi-T-M. The 2013 event was a huge success and surpassed the goal of $70,000 by raising $91,300. To date, Golfing for a Cause has raised more than $163,000.

All the proceeds from Golfing for a Cause go directly to the Peosta Community Center, which was built and donated to the city of Peosta by A.J. Spiegel, founder of Mi-T-M Corpora-tion. The Center first opened its doors on January 15, 2005. Spiegel also donated property directly south of the Community Center where a baseball complex was built and dedicated as A.J. Spiegel Park on July 7, 2007.

The thought behind the Peosta Community Center is to allow for improvement to the physical and social wellbeing of the children and families of Peosta and the surrounding communities. It is important to Spiegel to see that all children have the opportunity to join their friends in a positive and nurturing environment. The desire behind the fundraiser is that the proceeds will help fund memberships for children whose families may not otherwise have the means to belong.

Spiegel has made community growth a lifelong goal. In order to achieve this goal, he enlists the help of key personnel, including the President of Mi-T-M, to serve on the board of directors for the Community Center. The Mi-T-M marketing department lends its expertise to the Community Center by helping its staff promote the Center through marketing material and advertising. Golfing for a Cause is a great opportunity for the residents of Peosta and the surrounding communities, as well as businesses in and around Peosta, to come together for a great cause.
